Hi,
I re-render my scene with new Vray 3 SP1 and bad rendering occured. Look at renders:
first: good rendering with vray 3.08
second: bad rendering with vray 3.10
With SP1 its really terrible, please can you solve this, thanks.
Hello,
Could you send us a part of the problem scene so that we find out why is this happening ?
Best Regards,
Yavor
Scene sent. Thank you.
Thank you for the scene. We are working on a fix for this.
Great! Thanks a lot.
How it looks? Anything new about it?
Hi,
Our developers are now working on this fix and most probably it will be part of the next service pack.
Actually is should be fixed in the nightly and stable builds already; if you have access to that, can you give it a try and let me know if it works better? If you don’t have access to the stable builds, email support@chaosgroup.com to get them.
Best regards,
Vlado
OK, I will try it and let you know, thanks.
Still same, very bad render ![]()
Test 3.10.02 from stable builds.
Thank you very much for the feedback.
I will forward this information to our developers.
Thank you.
Repair it please, in Vray 2.4 works great in every scene and I use it a lot for one customer, thanks again.
Thank you,
After more investigation on this issue we found that there is another issue in this setup, which is not related to the V-Ray Clipper.
Here is one render result with version 2.4 :
We assume that the reason for this render is in the low resolution map used or the non-uniform texture placement (the tiling). So please try to edit the placement of this texture or increase its blurriness.
However, the Clipper issue has been solved, but unfortunately the fix has not been added to the latest stable builds for some reason. I will make a note about this and as soon as the fix is part of the stable nightly build, will post an update here. Please excuse us for this mistake.
I made a render test to illustrate the results between the latest Official build 3.10.02 and one of our internal builds.
Happy Holidays!
Ok, so if I understand it right, the blank parts next to the reflective material is ok now.
But problem in the middle is alright on my render in 2.40 with this setup and texturing. I made a lot of objects and scenes like this for client and everything was ok doesnt matter on texturing or objects. So I think there is some new problem.
The artifacts in the middle persists in both versions 2.40.04 and 3.01.02 according to our tests.
2.04.04
3.01.02
These artifacts are caused by the texture used in the diffuse/bump slot of the material of the object.
The issue might not be reproducible in 2.40.04 if the texture is not loaded properly which happened a few times here since the name of the texture has the following unrecognizable character “á”.
Did you use the same 3DSMax version when rendering with 2.40.04 and 3.01.02 or not?
Sorry, I mean vray 3.0 and Vray 3.1. In Vray 3.0 is all good without any problem.
I just send a scene and all files on support mail. In 3.10.02 look better, but still big problems on metal reflecting part and around it. In 3.00.08 without any problem.
We’ve just tested the last scene you sent us with the latest Stable Nightly Build from 20141230.
The artifacts from the Clipper are now solved, please check the image bellow.
The image bellow is calculated with the latest official build 3.10.02 which still holds the issue.
Please download the latest Stable Nightly build and run another test in your environment.
Let us know if the issue is still there and post a few screen-shots of the final result.
