Vray Dirt Subdivision...

So I’m rendering a scene with a vray dirt pass. The scene itself looks great. No grain to speak of. However, the vray dirt pass is another matter altogether. I cannot seem to bring down the graininess. I’ve increased the subdivisions to 256 but it has not made any noticeable difference. Am I missing something? Any ideas?
I’ve included a render for reference.

Thanks!

What are your AA settings?

Try my deex vray fast here : http://deex.info/wordpress2/tools/deex-vray-fast/
Or set your settings to adaptive DMC, min 1-max 8, threshold 0.008

That looks awesome! I can’t wait to try it out. I’ve seen similar products for 3ds max but never for maya. Thanks!

My adaptive DMC settings were at min 4, max 30 and threshold .004 so it seems like it shouldn’t have been nearly so grainy.

It also depends on one final setting - the Adaptive amount of the dmc sampler settings. Make sure it’s not 1.0, the default 0.85 or something like 0.9 might work better.
