vray exr and backburner: could not read/write file type

I get this error in backburner and all nodes keep trying to re-render the same frame over and over again…

I am trying to render to EXR by the vray raw image option. Render fine locally.

All path are unc. I have a small network of 3 computers. They all do the same error even on the one that renders ok locally.

I tried to replicate the bug with a very simple scene. On the simple scene (only spheres with camera rotating around) I got the error randomly. some times it renders some times not…

any idea what this could be?

Where do you get this error? In the V-Ray log or somewhere else?

Best regards,
Vlado

It’s in the backburner server window.

Ok, and if you take a look at the V-Ray log file, does it contain anything useful?

Best regards,
Vlado

When I open the log file, there is almost nothing now. I will have to replicate the bug when I have more time. For now I’m rendering with scanline…

I got kind the same problem…when I render locally the EXR has all the passes but when I send it thru BB and I don’t get the passes, my rendernodes show error messages but I get the renderings done(without elements) …the files are lighter in size if i get it locally.

any idea?

Fernando

Do you have 3dsmax connexion extension? I have it and what i noticed when we install it is that we get two exr choices in the file type rool out but they give the same result. It may be related…

sorry for the delay…Yes, I have connexion extension installed
I’d like to uninstalled but i also need import stuff from Rhino & Sketchup :frowning:
