Hello,
I cannot get a linear distribution on my VRay IES light. If I check the “use light shape” box this is the result I get. If you look at the lower part of the image you can see a definite hotspot. When I use the same IES file with the photometric light I get a linear light shape and distribution. The vray ies is soooooo much faster. Is there something I am doing wrong?
V-Ray will only use the light shape for shadows, not for the light distribution. It would be best to use a rectangle or mesh V-Ray light for this.
Best regards,
Vlado
Thanks for the tip
I wil give that a try.
Np, I’ll make a note to expand the “Use light shape” option to specify if shadows only should be affected, or shadows and light.
Best regards,
Vlado
Great! Those render times are a killer with the potometric IES. vray +1 4life
