Is there a simple way to convert a VrayMtl to a VrayVrmatMtl?
It would greatly simplify the workflow of exporting 3dsmax Vray assets to SketchUp or Rhino.

Yes, there is - it’s out of the box tool available under 3dsMax Tools menu (at the very bottom)

Note that if a material is really complex the resulted VrayVRmatMtl won’t match it perfectly, simple materials however will look exactly the same.
