Since Player is being discontinued, whats an alternative light weight image sequence player that also supports layers and blend modes for quick compositing?
RV is the gold standard. But you have to find someone who is able to build it.

I got as build of 3.1 but I dont see an option to change blend modes.
So is Chaos Player free to download by anyone without a paid subscription? They just need a free Chaos ID when it asks to sign in and it should work?
I see. What about Natron? Youi would need only a view nodes. Easy to learn.
I have a Davinci Resolve license so I could use that but its a lot more steps. Chaos Player just made it so easy and fast to test comps and nothing else does that. Lots of sequence players out there but nobody i can find does blend modes for layers.
with Resolve licence you can install Fusion Studio - more streamlined for your needs.
