When I render using DR, my rendering finishes up faster, but I still cannot work within the file to do other things. Is there a way around this?

Isn’t backburner completely separate from Vray DR? I thought you either used backburner or DR.

I have never had any luck running DR over Backburner. Never works properly.

Go to your task manager, right mouse click 3dsmax.exe, and remove some CPU’s from the Set Affinity… option

I use BB and DR together all the time, and for this purpose. Add all your slaves to the DR list in your work file, queue the render in BB and fire it away. The BB server will start the job and will pick up the DR nodes that are active on the network, and named in the DR list you set in the file on …
