I made the mistake of updating to newest chaos cosmos version, now some materials I like to use are only available in vray6. How can I remove the update? Is this all to force people buying the newest version? Whats going on?
Are the new materials somehow different that previous vray versions cannot calculate them? Would it be possible to filter materials by vray version in chaos cosmos.
Thank you!
Hey there,
1 by 1:
I made the mistake of updating to newest chaos cosmos version
This is definitely NOT a mistake; on the contrary - this is something I encourage everybody to do. Reason – with every new version we deliver important fixes and new features. Well, sometimes bugs too, but that’s life, unfortunately
now some materials I like to use are only available in vray6
Can you please tell us more about the problem:
- which is your V-Ray for Revit version?
- which materials are problematic?
- also, what exactly is happening:
- you can see the materials in the Cosmos Browser, but you cannot import them, because of incompatibility; or
- you used to see the materials, but now you don’t; or
- something else
Providing screenshots and/or video would be great!
How can I remove the update?
Let’s first try to identify and fix the issue. If that doesn’t help, I will help you revert to an older version.
Is this all to force people buying the newest version
Definitely NOT!
Whats going on?
Probably there is some bug. We need your cooperation and patience in order to locate & fix the issue.
Thank you!
Hi,
Thanks for quick reply. I’ve attached a few screenshots. I hope they help identify the problem if there is any.
Thank you!
Hi,
Please, can you send me in the DMs all of the cb.log files and the config.json (C:\Program Files\Common Files\ChaosGroup\ChaosCosmos\ config.json + cb.log)?
Hi, @blagovest_konetsovski can I have your email address, I will send them there?
Users using V-Ray 5 are not suppose to see materials that are available only for V-Ray 6. The problem was fixed with a restart of the Cosmos Browser.
I appreciate fast resolving of the problem. Thank you Hristo and Blagovest!
