Hi I have just installed V Ray for Rhino4 plugin I have also installed Maxwell plugin I use it for monthes
Each time I render an image with V ray the sun is always shining and it is always at the same place even if I change the camera.

Can someone help me please ?

Our defaults have the Sun and Sky on. So if you want to turn the sun off, then go to Global Switches and deselect Default Lights. You should also disconnect the sun and sky, so click on the M by GI and Background and change the Type (on the left) to None. Lastly, the physical camera is on by default too, so you should disable that by going into the camera rollout and disabling it there.

That could be implemented in my last request.

To have a global option with names like :
Default_config
My profile
XXXXX
etc

here it is:
I wish I could create several configs and just name them.

Something very similar to the option to save the vray configs but I wouldn’t have to save them, they would all be included in the model file and I could change very fast between several configs.

I wish in Rhino we could also in the layers create a top config that memorized wich layers were on and off, this was I could have several configs with some layers on and some off and I could very fast change.

Does this sound good idea?

Thank your for your helpfull answer.
I haven’t succeeded in modifying default sunlight position.
Is it possible without replacing default sunlight by a new sunlight system?

Your never going to succeed in changing the default position. Thats because the default light is created by rhino for viewport visualization and modifying it is deliberately hidden from the user. If you want to change the sun’s position, then adding your own sun is the way to about it. Add the sun via the sunlight command, and make sure you change the sky properties (in GI and background) to reference the sun you just made.

That’s what I did, I created my own sun system, but I thought it was as easy as in Maxwell for rhino. You choose the date and time and location and the default sun automatically changes.

Its only the first time that you have to do that. Once you’ve added your first sun, then you can click Modify in the light properties, and that will allow you to change the location/time/day without “disturbing” the setup
