As the title says:
Will we get an Nvidia Maxwell update for V-Ray for Rhino.
I have read in the Max Forums that the official builds do not support the Maxwell architecture.
Only the Nighlies do.
V-Ray for Rhino is normally one generation behind the Max version.
I just bought an GTX 970, some i am curious, if there will be an update ?
Hi,
you have reached the significant benefits in terms of speed compared to the previous video card?
Perhaps you are running as a compatibility mode, I do not think that exploits fully the potential, maybe ..
I am pretty happy with the speed.
I do not have a comparision, because my old card was an ATI (no chance to get it work)
What comptibility mode are you refering to?
I think there is no benchmark scene (for Rhino), but if you have a scene to compare i could give it a try.
I seemed to understand that the implementation of that architecture is a novelty of the new version of vray 3.0 but I could be wrong, maybe fernando knows something about it.
In the short time I can prepare a scene for testing
Thanks
Hi Guys
Joe our main programmer here in Baltimore told me that he added couple GPU update to our V-Ray for Rhino build and it may support Maxwell architecture. However, we didn’t make any serious test with multiples video cards. So, If for some reason RT GPU is not working for you, please let us know and give us information about your video card, OS, V-ray version, etc.
Let’s start a positive list. ![]()
