Once you are used to masks you will always use them ![]()
You could use the MultiMatte renderelement, assign an object id to all your window glass and set this id to one of the rgb channels of the MultiMatte. You will end up with an image file you could use in photoshop to get a perfekt selection of your windows by using the rgb channels. Or you could take a look at the psd manager from cebas which will automatically creates mask and layers of your rendering. Another quick method would be to assign a white material to your windows and black to everything else (or delete the other stuff in the scene) and render out a quick scanline rendering which you can then use to get selections in photoshop.
is the way I go. I forgot to turn it on for the last image I did, so I had to mask old school, which tok forever.
also what you could to is render the wirecolor element, you just have to make sure your object have different wire colors, (these scripts out there to assign random wirecolors)and then you use your magic wand to select colors in ps.
