Workflow Tip: Mastering Exterior Lighting with Polystyrene Mode

Hi everyone!

I wanted to share a visual from a recent project where I used Enscape’s Polystyrene Mode to fine-tune my exterior lighting and shadow management.

As you can see on the left side of the image, breaking down the scene into a clay/white render allows me to focus purely on the light balance, the intensity of the LED strips, and the depth of the shadows without being distracted by materials. Once the lighting setup is solid, switching back to full textures (on the right) gives a much more controlled and realistic result.

I found that this workflow saves a lot of time during the preview phase.

What is your go-to process when balancing complex exterior lights? I’d love to hear your thoughts!
