  • Phoenix FD sim not uploading to Cloud

    Hi,

A Phoenix sim that I am working on does not upload to Chaos Cloud at all. I believe it is to do with the input parameters I have set for Cache origin and timeline origin. I require the simulation to start later on my timeline and from a certain point of the cache file. If I set the cache origin and timeline origin to the default 0, it uploads fine. However just for context, I require a cache file origin of 200 and timeline origin of 5100. I am attempting to upload animation frames 5100 to 5275.

    Thanks,

Sorry should also add just in case it makes a difference. I calculated the simulation in the different file from frames 0-500. But I have no problems adjusting the timings locally. Only issue on the cloud.

      Hello James,

Currently, the timeline origin is not supported on Chaos Cloud. The cache origin parameter is working. We have this reported into our bug-tracker (Ref: CLOUD-564) and we will post an update when there is any progress.
There is one more issue related to this bug. When using Phoneix in Maya on the Cloud the first frame will not load the cache on the Cloud. To workaround this submit one frame more from Maya and add +1 to the Frame start in the Cloud submit panel.
Sorry for the trouble caused. We will keep you posted.

Thank you for confirming. Does play speed work ok on the cloud?

Play speed works on the Cloud. A possible workaround for the Timeline Origin issue would be to manually "offset" the cache files by renaming each file with the desired frame number and then submit to the Cloud. Note that locally, you need to turn off the Timeline Origin and keep the Play Speed to "1".

Has this issue been fixed? Almost 4 years late I appear to be having the same issue. Thanks

There was an issue with the Phoenix "Time Bend" controls which was fixed with client app 1.16, this was about two years ago. What is the ID of the scene you are currently having problems with? You can submit a ticket to https://support.chaos.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
