  • New Cloud submit app - stalling Maya

After updating client app 1.21.3 for Windows x64 Mon Apr 03 2023

I can not longer submit jobs from Maya vray shelf.
Writing scene to VRscene file now stops at 99% followed by Maya just stalling and never completing job.

Does it also default to AppData folder?

PS using the Nightly install of VRay from 5th.
Uploading the VRscene works fine via the cmd cloud exe

OK it finally resolved after an hour of leaving it but the VRscene file was 85GB upload for a single scene, so had to cancel that.
Saving the scene out to local folder was only 49Mb. I'll keep playing around.

When you are "saving the scene out to local folder" what do you mean? Saving (exporting) it as a `.vrscene` or saving it as a Maya scene?

Saving a VRscene to local project takes about 3 sec to save but the shelf submit to cloud button takes over 2 hours.
Also the size is incredible when it did complete, there is no animation in scene just single render.
VRscene size when saved out was 49MB.

I have uninstalled VRay as I was testing the new scatter and it seems the submit was broken with this release. installing the stable release - 60003 does fix the issue so all good now.

Thank you for the heads up anyway. I will find someone who could dig deeper on that so that we know this bug does not get released in stable at some point.

              Hi stezza
Is there anything specific in the scene you're exporting? Does it happen with simple scenes as well(e.g. a cube and a light)? Can you please send over a scene you're experiencing this problem with so we can have a look?

                Hi folks.
I'm still getting this issue of submitting to the cloud via Maya shelf - but only on scenes that I have worked on for sometime. I cant pin point to a particular part of the scene that is causing this. This happens to all vray builds that have scatter, including the latest stable version, build without scatter seem fine.
I not using any scatter in my scenes.
If I send to cloud via shelf button the "writing vrscene file" takes about 2 hours and is massive in size even for a spinning cube over 100 frames, like 86GB once complete but the saved vrscene file is only 2MB!

I can manually send the vrscene to cloud and this is fine.
I can send you a scene if you like but cant be shared public.

                VRay installer vray_adv_60004_maya2023_x64_32054 WORKS fine

These do not work sending to cloud

Hi, could you send us a scene that reproduces the issue trough the support contact form for review? Please add a link to this thread in your e-mail.
