  • Mall Interior

This image is for a furniture company that sells the planters, tables and chairs. Hence, the reason for so many.

They wanted a brightly lit night scene in a mall, so this is what I came up with for them. Your thoughts would be appreciated.

Well really close to photoreal (maybe little to contrast or dof effects). But maybe not so huge fallof with reflection (I see that lights don't reflect at all) and lamps in the middle don't seem to lighten the scene
I just can't seem to trust myself
So what chance does that leave, for anyone else?

I like the image overall, very good background too make very alive .
I don't like the lamps empotred in the mezanine, they look like storage room lamps.

      Good work!!

great work. Would like see some more sexiness to it. Mostly reflections of that realy nice night exterior in your floor some or something like that. It needs some bling bling...

You know we are nerds when we describe renderings in terms like "sexy".
I do it all the time!

Tony, great job! I think thats one of my favorites I've seen from you. I do agree about the reflections though.

Also I'm undecided about the artwork by the the consessions sign. I like it but doesn't really seem to go with the rest of the scene.

Are the plants 3d or maps? They look awesome!

hey. we are artists. not poets. our spelling is alowed to suck lol or maybe your right and the americans do spell it differently. i know they swap z's for s's in alot of words or is it the other way around i forget. might be s's for z's. and things like light becomming lite. ah well. nice render by the way

Thanks for the comments and I agree about the reflections. But the client felt that to much reflection on the floor took away from their products. It did look better with less falloff. The bridge makes for some great reflections.

All the plants are 3d except the flowers in the middle. The mural on the wall under the concessions sign was a client request " can we add a splash of color"

I was wondering when someone would notice that sign I didn't until after I submitted the final render, the client hasn't noticed it yet so I guess I'll have to fix it now. Spellin was nevar mi strang piont.

Only thing is that the black materials aren't reflecting at all. I question what that black box is in the center of the room.

I think something to consider with the floor is playing with falloff vs. reflection amount. It looks good with the amount it's reflecting the objects but as Paul stated, the lights should still show in the reflections.

The chair backs are a stretched fabric. The box in the middle is a trash recyle bin. If thats the one your talking about?

I will make a few changes to the reflections and see if they will accept it. Thanks.

to me this image looks 99% perfect but one of the only things confuses me is what happens at the end of the glass vault where the framing hits the end wall. it looks like the frame and glass arnt aligned together or something.

your materials and lighting are very very good. well done!

BTW: when your client said "splash of color" are you sure they meant this? hahehe Consessions stood out to me as well but i bet there is a buisness out there called this....maybee people go in there to be conned?

planting...wow. are these xfrog? im desperately trying to get planting like this
