  • Mountain House Interiror

An interior of a mountain house to be built high up on a ski mountain resort. An exterior dusk type summer rendering is next.

Is it just me or these images open up with a weird redish brown background/surrounding color for anyone else? it did not used to be that way..?

I should have titled the post Mountain House versus Mountain House Interior. Here is the Exterior. All comments/critique much appreciated.

I would say that it needs some more room at the top....and possibly lose the sun, or moon...as the light on the house is from the left, so looks incorrect to my eye/s
The lighting is not to my particular taste as it look a little lacking in contrast - but that is subjective and may be required.
The foreground trees are a bit distracting, unless they need to be there - also the firs do look a little odd...I know they are that type but they appear a bit self-illuminated.
Probably just omitting the one that's front and centre would calm that down significantly.
You have some tiling going on in a few areas; under the eaves being most noticeable.
I reckon that wood cladding would look much improved if there was some depth to it, as currently it appears to be a flat texture

I wish I could live in a big house in the hills

          Thanks for your feedback fixeighted!

This is showing the North side of the house. The idea is day is breaking to the East as the moon is setting to the West. The trees in the foreground are matching the landscape plan. We will see what the client(s) think, possible they will want to leave them out. The wood siding has a displacement of 1" for the channels. It maybe doesn't read like that because of the low contrast early morning light. Also North sides are always a challenge to light.

I realized there was another double window behind the camera and I had not put a light there. That really helped.

Final renderings are attached. Some changes per client request. Most notable is for the exterior moving the sun to be in the North. The sun will never shine on this house from this direction but they came around to feeling it was OK to use some creative license for that. Interior changes include the window and door jamb and sash which were originally black and then somewhat painstakingly separated out to be white, are now back to being black. Different wood flooring and counter top.
