  • Pointers please

Hi guys! it has been so long since i post something, and i have seen some very impressive images lately, i need some pointers on how to imporve this image, im using just a 1 direct targeted light and enviroment, and a hdr for reflections, irradiance map, im not using thelight cache because i so rusty now, please just give me some pointers on what to improve, i really need to get some photorealistic look, but of course without dirtmaps, because its mainly aimed at the arch rep.
BTW Can also someone point me on where to get some good trees and foliage textures, i use to have marlin studios trees and foliage, but as i remembered, my tga's contained the alpha map, but now my PS only show my tga's with a black background.

and you can find a more detailed one here (1600x1200)

Your texture size is way to small. The house looks like it is about 10 to 20 cm. Consider using finer textures.

the brown texture is actually about the right size, i was aiming at a material that has a very rough texture, that's why it looks kinda big

The car make the scene look out of perspective - it very squashed.

The image needs some space to breathe, moving the camera farther from the main building might help. Some foreground stuff is needed to emphasize the spacial distance. The main building needs more details (e.g. window frames) as well, and a proper atmosphere (achieved by lighting and post-processing).

In addition, the texture scale looks wrong to me as well.

your render looks a bit dull at the moment.
i think your direct light (sun) needs to be stonger to match the sky.

also the glass could do with some work.
              can you post glass settings?

its a good start, I would also throw in a technical camera modifier so as the walls are vertical and not slanting (albeit very little),
I think doing the windows in PS will be time saving and will give very good results.

Here are the glass settings, its just a very basic setup

well, i think that the sun can be a bit more strong, but i place my bet on having a tree with bigger leaves so it can really cast a stronger shadows, because i think that the shadow on the garage are strong enough, what do you think?

Also, PLEASE ellaborate more on making the windows in PS, im really interested on that techinque, or point me to some good tutorial! Thanks !!!
                  Best Regards.

i think you should lower the fog value in your glass - it's quite dark at the moment, it looks more like heavily tinted privacy glass than window glass...

have you tried egz glass material?

to get stronger shadows, you need brighter sun rather than bigger leaves.
with a brighter sun you'll get more contrast between the shadows and lit areas.

let us know how you get on!
