yeah things have gotten crazy on this side but its all relative, our clients on this side of the planet pretty much just are hard to pay

Unless you live in NYC or SF, almost everything except for healthcare and education is cheaper in the US than in Europe. Tax rates generally way lower and skilled worker wages way higher.

I live in San Diego, which is pretty pricey. Some of us are married people, putting kids through college, and others are single people living in their mother's basement; all things to consider.

We may be in san diego early Nov. GF grew up in coronado and her mom still lives there. A family function is going to occur that she must attend. Have a close friend who is a captain in sd fire and rescue helicopter group. We will be making the rounds, maybe get a ride in his blackhawk/firehawk. Perhaps fun to meet briefly if time and etc work out?

I think it is the Chinese market, with the insanely low process. So many people care about price, and quality doesn't matter much. Some of the stuff coming out of the architect's office isn't much better, so to get something cheap that is equivalent in quality, why not? Most of the architects who reach out to me from larger firms want to send me markups in the evening and have an updated rendering by morning; this is what they expect. So "we like your work much better, but we want it cheap and with a fast turnaround."

Anyway, onward and upward! I hope everyone is staying busy and getting paid what they deserve.
