  • Parfum flacon anima wip

    Hi you guy´s

Now after some while not being posting anything, a Wip.

this is an internal project we do. What we usualy do very often now are stills from parfum flacons. We want to do the next step, showing, we also could do a spot, selling this parfum. of course, we would like to do some special effects, so we decided to make a cg rose, blowing its smell to the air, following smal particles, drops, combining , melting together to their aim, a parfum flacon. at last the flacon isnt there allready, and everything is still in progress.

well our experiance was, ... dont hope, you can control fluids. you can do pf-events that do ( nearly) what you want. but getting a special desired result is very very difficult. ( well it was our first experiance with pf, real-flow, and glue 3d) if you want something like a fluid, that looks like a real fluid, realflow and glu can do this, but to make it behave in a special way ... hmmm... arrrgh.

never the less we start to get some results. not what we expected first, but you know , no one will ever know what exactly we wanted.. .

so lets see what this will lead us to..

a closeup of a part of the rose

first rose that was hmmm to red. we wanted a bright smell, so
a less dark rose would fit better

    Hi tom,

    Beautifull rose!

It all looks well rendered, but will it be clear that the drops are the roses scent? It looks like water drops in the morning sticking to the rose. Maybe it gets clear during the anim.

I also think the intro part takes too long, don't know how long your commercial will be but it is too much the same movement imo. The part where you go from side view to top view is too much I think. Maybe when the camera would go from very slow to some faster movement each time it will be better? The motion is not very fluid when I view it here, don't know why that happens.

In the filling part, there's a broken frame (293) which shows some color stripes.

    regards,

    wouter

      Congrats

        congrats , very clean detail!
Just one thing: the rose seems to be too rigid, but that's all.
water is glue or real flow?
        =:-/

          Hi tom schuelke,
I realy like the animation. It is very clear that the drops are the roses scent. I’ve never heard or seen “parfum flacons” before but one thing I can tell you, this animation smells very good!

Hi thank you all for your thoughts.

            Hi Flipside,

Well the avi´s are real work in progress. We know for a commercial it would get much to long. so we think about a much faster version of about 30 secounds, and this way many parts would fall away or get cut. I think this could make it better.

i dont mind if its looks like water in the morning. this also could take the smell with it.

there will also be a shot where the drops fly away, you flow with them untill they get faster untill they reach their aim.

also the shot of the fluid, filling the inner part of the bottle, is realy the very first test ..

the bottle itselfe will build up after the first 2 or 3 secounds in a complex bolean. immagine it as a ice bottle melting inverted ... ähhh time reverse.

i am not sure if this will work, but we will see.

the structures on the rose are just bumps together with sss that is masked with a texture.

well hope i will update this soon.

                Part 2 is awesome.

The whole thing is too slow. Is this 30 fps playing at 15? (Cause 2x as fast looks about right).

Also don't like the drops falling sideways - drops need to fall down.

Otherwise - the rose looks great.

                  Hi meanadam

well its 4 times slower than fluids like water. we decided to do so, because we think, it still has to be light and not like a big strong wave coming in. also to simulate a fluid (for us beginners) in realflow exactly the way we want it, is very difficult . in most of our tests, the fluid looked a little bit to thick, so we decided to show the filling up of the inner part of the bottle, in slow motion . ( in slow motion all fluids seem to be a little bit thick ).

in the moment i run into problems with the glas part of the bottle. it looks like the melting of the glas part but in time reversed. boleans didnt do this at all, but powerboleans did it in the viewport. but when rendering, after one frame everything seems to freeze. arrg. also the faling leaves dont behave as i want it. after tumbling down they flip, (particleflow).. some new tests seem to be nessesair. reaktor seems to slow.

                  Tom
