        He people.

thanks again for your comments. I would like to build some of your suggestions in here. But for the moment i think we only can do some minor post changes.

the speed of the growing bottle right now is to fast and we can make it two times slower...

        to morbid Angel .
Well the movement of the leaves when the wind blows, is a bit fast too i think. but when we make this part two times slower (we´ve got the frames allready) it will look better i hope. At last i only had half a day to do this simulation, and it was my first attemp to do a softbody simulation. What i learned, i wasnt able to make an innitial speed to the leaves with reactor softbody, but only with reactor cloth, and also i wanted first to do a spherical wind. i was a bit disapointed that ractor couldnt use max wind spacewarps, and only its own windsystem that only can blow in one direction. another thing that i was dissapointed about, i s that the keyframes of the leaves only get saved inside of the clothmodifier, and no way to see them inside of the trackview.

        Da elf.

No its no post effect its an animated painful powerbolean. very very difficult to set up. also only with a script renderable, because the renderjob allways stoped in the renderqueuque after one frame. so we did a smal script that produced via commandline rendering about 1000 single renderjobs in the queuque for each frame one .... arrgggggh

the reflection depth is about 20. we decided some time inbetween, to make a darker backround than shown here. we are still not sure, we will put it in here. (we´ve rendered it as another layer) We still can compose it in . I think when we do this the darker collor will get more logical, while i am not sure, it is good for the overal film. Hmm maybe a bit post...

OH one thing that also was bad, the animated bolean was far to complex and diffictult for max... there was through the whole sequence when the bottel builds up, no way to make any previews... arrrgh. max alsways did hang after some frames.

Well next time we´ll find another way. jAh Yes and one thing left, this is a teamwork of two talented guys and me. So its not only me here.

Wow, that is damn cool. Love the rose.

A few of the rose droplets that dont appear to be reflecting the white look like little white bloodcells or something, early on in the shot on one of the leaves.
And at the end there is some odd flickering in the bottle, not intentional i assume?

              Amazing work tho.

                Hi DaForce

You are right. First we wanted a very white look, but you know, white reflections of white things in white rooms look just white, so we had to experiment a bit with reflections.

I am not totaly satisfied, but its allright at this stage,

the flickering... i know. but we allready had depth of field and motionblurr in some scenes, and this took way to long to render allready..

everything is singleframe due to the moving of everything. Maybe now i think, a domelight with mapped hdri would to some of theese things better now. AHHH, but you knowit, you want it all, untill you see its to much

                    Hey Tom!
                    Sorry for replying so late.
Whoa i'm kind of busy too.
But first of all, nice work, really really nice!

I love the beginning, this lush, shapy and colourfull Rose is just marvellous. Greetings to everyone involved. I also like the timing here. The second part is definately good. I like the leaves physics and the blowing wind effect actually but the timing and "whoa" of the first part are not there yet. I would definately do more with camera like some suggested already. How about just orbitting around the thing and coming to a hold when the wind blows... I also would let the Closure of the Bottle come down from above - not blended in. 'Possibilities are endless, but i think "more" would be appropriate here. Two small things that nitpicked me too: 1. The soft, white Crop Around the screen. You didn't had it before. 2. The flickering in the glossy Reflection of the Bottle. (Are the reflections interpolated or is it the GI that's popping?)

But still, very lovely piece already. I think with the things you have in mind, some already created in max and some music editing (christophe?) will make this demo just excellent and bring you a lot of old and new attention if you post it up (pull it off) right. ...I'm sure you will!

About my long absence... I will post a new film in the coming two weeks too. It was done as a 3 day test in the Ludwigsburg Filmschool i talked about in my Torero Thread. Tom has already seen it - I'm working on an improved Version with some Rendering things and revisited Sound. Tom lend me his Laptop when i was there doing the test. Unfortunately it overheated and crash damaged. I hope everything is alright again tom In the end everything went smooth and i got accepted. Full Story will come when i post the new film.

                    Tom, keep it up.
                    Greetings to the Team.
                    Ich bin gespannt aufs Final.

Viel Glück, Spaß, Lerneffekt und Erfolg bei allem was Ihr tut

                      Ah Sascha

no problem with the laptop it still had garantie....

i am not sure we will finde the time to change to much anymore in the film. Somehow its time to say . it must be enough for this time, which is ok thinkin of the many things we´ve learned. The next one will be much much much easier....
