This log house was built in the early 1980's. It would not be allowed to built in this location today. The owner is contemplating some fairly major work on it. The architect had me do this exterior to show the owner how the changes may look.
I included the before photo (that I took). Plus two photos that the architect took that show the existing structure better
The rendering is not an "exact" match to the photo. That's mostly due to the plans I used to model from being a bit off from what is existing. They had to measure the existing house and I think they also used some older plans by a different architect who had also field measured. Mainly the side elevation drawing did not match up with the floor plan in a number of ways. It was about 1.5' wider than the floor plan and had other discrepancies. I was told the floor plans were more accurate but...not sure that's true either.
The architect asked that I change the color of the logs, they are planning to treat them with some stain or something.
Anyway, it serves the purpose of letting the owner see what is planned and the architect is happy with this.
