So....what were these new features in Corona 12 that made you do the render in VRay....or was it something else that made you do that...just trying to unravel the mystery

Hi trick well.......Sincerly I have never liked Corona, its not for me, but I like to try out the features on each new version and for this one I wanted to give it a big chance because of:

Feature 1 - An environment override in CoronaCamera, with that its very easy to assign a unique hdr or background rather to use coronaselect or state sets for batchrender, I asked for this a couple of years ago and they finally add it .
Feature 2 - A usable History in VFB, I use it all the time in Vray, its very very practical, but in Corona Its useless. I was hoping that they could add a Project Folder implementation like I solitude a while back, but they didnt .

There are a couple of more features in this version but they werent useful for me, I like how everything sounds "in paper" but in practice.... its a whole different story, theres still a lot that Corona needs to improve for my workflow, in the end in terms of quality I always achieve the same ressults.

These were made in Corona, correct? I assume there is confusion about why they are posted here on the V-Ray forum.

It's not that I don't like Corona...I am just not convinced to switch. Yes, it's easier. But in the end I get the same resutls in VRay and I can get them faster with slightly less quality if I need to, especially with animations and large 360's. I still have a perpetual Corona v9 license but never used it for finals. Maybe for big archviz studios with more employees it's better and easier to get consistent output.

Sorry for the confusion, I was telling that I was trying out the newest Corona but in the end I decided to do it with Vray, I got really frustrated with it .

mmmmm I dont think that its easier, I think that it comes with a perfect balance configuration, but like you said, this is not suitable for all porposes, and you cant do much about it, I think it got obsolete when Vray 5 was released, its insane of what you can do with the VFB, but yes, its really afordable for anyone. Anyway I dont want any controversy I just found interesting to test both with the same scene and always prefer to stay with Vray.

I think the monthly model won't last. I read that when a new crack comes out, the subscription plummets until a new release. And the cycle repeats.

I hate that most of software companies are using subscription plans, I prefer perpetual licenses.

A couple of months someone from Chaos told me that recently they are using License Compliances and are gonna get more inflexible with more piracy lawsuits, sorry for my bad english i dont know much of legal terms
