    Hi everyone,

i have been doing this for 6 years, up till now, and this is my first vray rendering. though i have been doing 3d for 6 years, modelling for me is still an issue, because i am so crazy about lighting, i forget the most important one: modelling.

so as i am picking up my modelling and study it all over again with vray
as a rendering engine. i hope i get a lot of comment and critics. i wish
    to become better. thanks.

the setting that i am using for this Presidential suite.jpg image is:
    irradiance map and light cache,
    with lighting:
1 sunlight (photometric light with vray shadow from outside the window)
    -vray environmental light (pure white)/skylight
-photometric weblights with vray shadow for downlights,
-vray lights for those standing lamp, table lamp, wall lamp, pendant lights.
-i set the irradiance map to medium for this one.

all materials are vray materials. since i didn't know how to tweak interpolations in those glossy materials like wood, i didn't do it, and it became grainy. question is: how come the image does not reflect any realism, compare to those you guys post in here. am i in the right path or totally wrong, please advise me. i will be more than happy.

    thanks
    Dominique Laksmana
new vray user (but love it)

                  Laurent: Thanks

TRGraphics: i used only max scanline renderer. i never use any other renderer exept scanline and now i am using vray.

                  regards.

                    Hey. Nice render!!

The bed cover looks abit odd on the corner tho.

Good quality. The only things that cought my attention were the pillows on the bed look like they are self illuminating, or comp'ed into the image from another source, and your ies profiles obviously don't match the type of lamps you are using.

                        hi christian,

i don't really have any other nice webfile tho, so that's the nicest that i
had. about the pillow, i think the maps are overbright, or it gets the downlights burn, any suggestion?

any of you guys can give me a link to nice weblights?
                        i have erco, and simes,
                        any other site?

                        thanks

I personally never use ies lights, as I don't really do arch-viz, but there was someone on this forum who posted a link to a tool that alowed you to create your own ies profiles. Try a search here for something in those lines, pies or cies maybe with a hyphen between the first letter and ies. Can't remember really.
