            good morning,
gijs, how does it work with the gamma correction color mapping?
i've tried it, but when i increase even to 1.2 its totaly overburned.
and is there a way to adjust the correction of the maps correctly?

Leave the Dark multiplier to 1.0, and set the Bright one to the inverse of the gamma value (e.g for gamma 1.2 set the Bright multiplier to 0.8333).

              Best regards,
              Vlado

I agree its hard to tell which image has the more correct light transfer. But until I read vlado's post, I assumed Maxwell's is correct. I mean it IS the one that uses all this fancy light frequency mumbo jumbo stuff. Also it just looks a little better. My boss would love the extra localized 'hotter' areas, as it makes the image look 'sexier.' I frequently have to do these sort of things in photoshop, which is fine too I guess.

If you can understand Russian, here is a thread about color representation in some renderers (maxwell and scanline/V-Ray):
