Still downloading, but if you need animated people Metropoly (axyz) has some low-poly people that are Biped rigged, and you can purchase motion captured animation from them also.
Soooo....may I ask, what you guys charge for something like that?
I mean, just a ball park figure.
You go by the hour? 10 days x 8 h x 3 people = 240 hours?
So, price tag ranging from USD 25K to 35k?
Or this one was by badget?
Thank oyu, congrats again,
regards
gio
is that what you would charge for somthing like that in the us?
about the animation , what did you use for people they have a black line around them + i think it would be better to use those damm moving rpc in this case.
Gili
Gili,
he said 2 people by 13 hrs/day x 10 days = 260 total men hours.
Now, it all depends on what you want to make an hour.
I doubt any professional 3D artist wants to work for less than $100 / hour, at least on average. That would be $26,000.
After tax, expenses, and all, you put in your pocket half of that.
I have seen crappy architectural animations sold for about $20k...
On the other hand, I myself had to do animations and DVDs almost for free, just to "stimulate" potential clients. Sometimes it works, and you get some money back, sometime it dos not, and you only get yet another piece for your portfolio...
Yes, they are quite expensive. They do look good though. The only problem is that I think you would struggle to use more than 25% of the motions as they are heavily game oriented (unless of course you want people barrel-rolling all over the place and playing catch with a grenade!).
yea, I just downloaded their AVI demo of all animations...you going to use less than half of them...
It turns to be about $60 / $70 per animated character.
Lopoly3D has some cool library, 8 characters for $160, 20 bucks per character, but the problem is you need motion capture data files...another $80, but it's just $5 per mocap file...
But, if the money is not too much, I am afraid I would spend lot of time applying the mocap file to the characters...I tried it once and it was anything but simple (MAX + CS)
Does anyone regularly buy rigged characters and apply mocap file to them? Typical workflow? Do's and don'ts?
looks great tricky.
where abouts is the development for?
the toon on the people works well
the random paving material thats everywhere, where did you get it from?
library or did you make it?,i ask cos im after something very similar.

Yeah, but there's not too many options out there. I must say, though, what could impress your architectural client more than a fully animated character drowning in a lake in their renderings?
as long as the person drowning does not resemble the client
