  • Quick Project

This project had a fairly quick turn-around for us. We haven't had the opportunity to do many interiors, so it was a nice chance to show off what we could do. The client loved the jump in quality over the FormZ stuff he used to hire us for and is more than willing to pay the extra cost to do all his projects like this from now on.

I don't like the sky background in the first image. I don't know why the other artist (who does the post render touchup for stills) did that, it looks very out of place.

    very nice,
crisp and clean is one way to describe it.

Great looking shots! Nice work. What's a "quick" turn-around? Also, what were some of your settings-looks like a very "clean" render.

I did not use Linear Work Flow.

This is mostly just an orangish Direct Light for a sun, set at about 15, a bluish vray dome light for the "skylight" set to about 10. Additional white vray plane lights outside each of the windows where I wanted to get more light in and force the bright white effect. Exposure mapping is exponential with clamped colors.

GI calcs are QMC/LC with some tweaking to reduce graininess.

Then in Photoshop I added a smidgeon of specular bloom.

                  Good job
Why do you use a vray light skydome? I think you loose time with it where the vray environement could be work IMHO!
                  =:-/

I was getting too much graininess from the environment light, so I used a vray dome light so that I could control the subdivisions better.

Oh, and for the "quickness" of this project, it was about a week and a half turn-around. We weren't working exclusively on this project either. We have other 3D projects, websites, etc in the pipeline at the same time.
