allow me to offer some more advice.

For your IR, use 50 hpsh and 20 interp, for LC lower to 1500subdivs (if only for single frame) , untick stored direct light, change scale to screen, turn on pre-filter set to 20, change filter to nearest.

Change noise threashold QMC sampler to 0.004

Also make sure that in the GI rollout that both 1st and 2nd bounce are set to 1.0

DaForce, it is an animation and 50 hpsh and QMC sampler set to 0.004 means more render time, doesn´t it? and, as i'm on a dead line, i ain't got time enough.

"1st and 2nd bounce to 1.0".. I need that room to be dark because I'm gonna show a video on the screen

      i need fast render time...
sorry me, I write bad english because i am spanish.

ahh right so your after speed primarily.

hmmm well as long as your calcing and saving your IR and LC before hand then you only need to load the IR map when rendering as it stores the LC information in it.

Make sure to keep your glossy material subdivisions down to help speed things up.

And if you change to adpative subdivision AA it might be abit quicker and smooth.. althought not as accurate.

          Awesome render mate!!
Not sure if you know but putting vraylights at the windows blocks all environment light, and the direct light as well. Although you can get the direct light to work properly by tick invisible on the vraylights.
You can get the environment back in by ticking skylightportal on the vraylights.[/quote]

          thanks da force

I knew about the vray panel light and the direct light scenario but the enviroment thing is a new one on me!! i'll look into that.

you say later that i only need to load the irr map from file for the final render. i normally calc the lc on flythrough, then use this when calculating the irr map. then on final render load both - what difference will it make using your method?

          thanks

really nice images - I would change that orange picture in the second image for a mirror - there are too many colours competing in there, it makes it seem very busy.

You can save the lc and irr map at the same time - I calculate the lc using flythrough and save to file and irr map with incremental add and auto save (dont render final image checked). Then use these two saved maps for the anim - saves on sending renders to the farm - the lc gets calculated first then the irr map after - works a treat.

              shelsby:
Its abit quicker to load up as it only used one map (the IR) im sure it will use a little less memory. And its one less thing to share around the network.

So for final render you can just leave the 2nd bounce OFF and have the 1st bouce as your saved IR map.

As for the visual differences... none.

There are certain circumstances where it wont work tho.. i think one of them was if you have the glossies saved in the LC map or something (cant quite recall) but i wouldnt recommend that anyway.

Shelsby, I think u'll get an amazing animation from this! If you dont want to wait forever, i would advice you to check store with irradiance map on vraylights, it speeds up the animation render a lot! However, you need to use high settings for the precalculation process!

ziddemizard, I guess if you opened your own thread, it would be useful for you and especially shelsby. You will get more help this way

                        Nice Shelsby

Some glossy reflection for the kitchen's wood and floor.
I would give the glass (table) a green tint. It doesn't do anything now.
More colors (drinks, maybe the chairs)

And the pillows on the couch seems to be radioactive
