yes, the shadows are too crisp and distracting, maybe put some area on the sun and have the 2d people cast real shadows in max.
Maybe I'm just old school, but the contrast is way too low because of the LWF. I've been having this same problem myself with exteriors. I keep switching back to older methods with color mapping for better results."Why can't I build a dirigible with my mind?"

same here, been trying to grasp the LWF bastard, but i too, am suffering from lack of contrast - mostly doing exteriors though, and i might recall reading something about LWF being more suited for interiors?
nice image though, but you definately need some noise and area shadows, hmm, anyone know if that is possible with vRaySun?

LWF works just fine for interiors and exteriors, i ever posted an animtion on an exterior using LWF and vray sun/sky just to prove it ( i used to believe that it was crap for exteriors as well)
The lack of contrast is either caused by too much light in your scene or textures that have not been corrected properly. Try either lowering your lights multiplyer or applying colorcorrect to your maps and settings the gamma to 2.2 (in color correct)

i don t use colorcorrect...just the gama override in the max loading bitmap rollout...and i don t even need to correct any input that often....
