How can I get the sunlight to cast sharper shadows through my glass?

I have tried various refraction values but with little effect. The sun just seems to diffuse through the glass and you see no evidence of light falling into the room.
    I am using default sun settings and a Physical Cam 8 f-number, 125shutter speed & 300iso

Glass is Vray mat - white diffuse, white reflect, fresnel checked. IOR 1.6.

    Any help appreciated

hello, you have multiple solution for this problem:
1- use a standard material with low opacity
2- select your glass objet right clic and go to properties and uncheck Receive shadows
3- in your vray material check affect shadow

Or go to the exclude section of your sun and take 'cast shadows' off all the glass.

Theres a thread aout this at the moment.

something doesnt look right, do you have affect shadows checked in your glass material?

yeah, in your glass material check the box "Affect Shadows" in the refraction group. Set a little fog color and the multiplier to something around .01. you will have to experiment with the fog multiplier as it directly relates to the thickness of the glass object.
