Here is a cabin I was fighting with.. I think I got something I like. The colors got really muddy in the shadows.... Any tips on that?

nice job. I could swear that tree there on the left is poking into the cabin.

      Cabin

Thanks... no, it is far enough away not to be hitting the cabin.

        Nice render!!

Hehe i like the flower near the camera. Works well.
There seems to be some bad GI on the vertical blinds at the doors, but that could be the reflection I guess.

looks good, be careful with your foreground elements, some of the grass stems stick through the flowers. Also the trees look too rigid and straight in the trunks

Nice! It looks like you won the fight.

I would try DOF to blur the foreground elements.

              DOF

I tried DOF on a past job and it didn't fly with the client. I'll try it for fun and post the results

                DOF

So if I have a VRAY camera with a target 100' away and I want things 75' from the target to blur how do I do it? I set the focus distance to 75' and the shutter speed to 4000, but it is so blurry you can't see much. Do I decrease the shutter speed? I have my f-number at 1.

Increase your f-stop to make the in focus parts have a bigger range.

                          please reduce the iso!
u dont go shooting pictures with 800 ASA on a sunny exterior!

use 100 or there about also increase ur f number to focus a little more and get more normal shutter seeds.

Great, I was way off. I was refering to the 1.5 help and started with the numbers it showed. I'll post something shortly.

                              looking good bobby,
a couple things stand out. the wood textures look strange to me. almost like they are desaturated and lack contrast...the textures not the overall image. also the log geometry is flat and is noticable where it meets the roof. making a displacement map for this would be pretty easy and it would make it stand out better i think. the shingles above the deck seem to have the same problem...some displacement won't hurt.
i like the birds. i found that model somewhere online a long time ago...never though to make em white...nice.
