Have you stopped the render before the end?
how many subdiv have you used? I'm very curious about that

Looks pretty good, but what about the black in the glass? What are you reflect/refract max depth set too? For this I would set it very high like 30 and turn on "reflect on backside"

                thanks again.

                ja rerender,
its a bit strange these black areas. i've allready increased to 25. refl. on bs is on.
but wouldn't it logical that when you render unbiased, there isn't a max-depht at all?

You'd still need to increase the reflection/refraction depth; the unbiasedness is mostly for the diffuse GI case only. If you are going to increase the reflection/refraction depth, you can also make the reflections/refractions very slightly glossy, which will speed things up.

I suppose this is pure geometry - something like a "L" form studio.

thanks vlado. as for the moment the max-depht is set to 25 with refl. glossiness ,95. think i have to increase it than.

hi maxer, ja the BG is a simple bended plane.

                              fantastic work Jonas,

                              congrats.

i think i will have to revisit my scene with Grolsch bottles after seeing this...

What technique did u use for texturing the bottle? is it vray blend material?
Or is the "texture" geometry wrapped round the bottle? The glossies u ve got there are perfectly smooth...did u go above 30 subdivs in the mat settings?

Have you turned on both reflective and refractive caustics or just refractive ones?

Ive been doing a scene with wine bottles recently with ppt but could not get rid some of the noise in the darker areas, although the rest of the image appeared noiseless, which brings up the question.....while we use ppt method ...what is the importance of the sample size? how does it affect the speed/quality? Which vray setting actually influence quality of PPT anyway?

                              Sorry for too many questions...

Hope these questions will not be considered as an attempt to steal the topic.

                              Best regards
