        The Iron Roughneck was modelled in Inventor! Originally the Cyberbase is an old CAD model (AutoCad i think, got it from the client), the only part left from that model is some bits of the screens. I modelled it in max...

          fantastic, nice to see quality industrial renderings, dirtmap adds great realism to it,

          Can I ask about the dirtmap (never really used it before),In this case did you change the unoccluded color to yellow or leave it at the default white? Did you use an 'overlay' layer mode on the Colour corrected layer?

            I used a standard material, and VrayDirt in the Self-Illumination slot! Put the material in "Global switches" Override mtl.
            If you use this metod, remember to turn off all lights an GI...

            And just use it as an overlay in Photoshop
