Really really nice work. I like the originality of your images. Did the metal ceiling grids take forever to render out? Do you have a website to view more images at?

Do you mean the Aluminium grid in image_06, if so it didn't take that long on a dual Xeon, think it was done overnight at 2500 x 1500. Don't have a website at the moment at planning to make on again, that said I have been meaning to do that for aout 2 years now, so someday you never know.............

                great stuff,

                nice detailing and lighting..

are you using lwf as I think your images have a nice contrast, any photoshop correction.. and is the first image only lit by one vray light and a couple of ies downlighters.. is the ies file the one from the evermotion site??

                keep postin'!

I am not using LWF as I have tried to understand how it works from people describing it on this forum, but really have no idea how to do it.

First image has 4 ies photometric lights in the alcoves with (nice ies - evermotion) and 2 VRAY lights on above the meeting tables and one being the camera, cheating really, tiny bit of photoshop, to boost the colours, curves, levels etc and that it. I also think I deepend the maroons as the designers always change the mind on the see the final render and it saves re-rendering.

I know what you mean about LWF we are using it for a lot of our stuff now, but getting predictable colours, or should I say converting all our old model libraries to compensate for it can prove tiresome, but for larger offices shots where you want to get alot more light into the scene its great.

again I know what you mean about designers/architects changing their minds, for small shots we typically look for fast renders that can be produced by vray in an hour max. rendering out a mat id and some matte passes helps preparation for that!

you must be using high sub divisions on the vray lights... and
as a result taking a good few hours to render? I dont use the vray light in our scenes to replicate anything other that sun/ambient light coming in through windows etc but think it works well over the meeting table, but would also expect some hot spots from the downlighters .. but being very picky..

                      I am using a Dual Xeon 5160 @ 3.GHz, 4gb RAM

Quadro FX4500 - 512 mb RAM,, does the VRAY test scene (cornell) in 1min 44 secs.

Its about 4 x faster as the other dual Xeon I use which is bout 2 years old, with fire gl v3100 graphics cards.

                      First image set up is.....

Subdivs 12 and 8 on the 2 VRAY lights

No VRAY shadows on the IES/ photometric lights

                      Lightcache 1500

                      Irr - -4/-1 HSph 80 Interp 80

                      Adaptive Subdivs 0/3

                      Skylight Multiplier 10 (default blue)

rQMC Samples - min sample- 14

                      vray camera f-number 3.2

                      Thats about it really!!
