Ok then, and what is producing the light from underneath the table? A light or a self-illuminated objects?

          Best regards,

It would be best if you can get me that part of the scene to vlado@chaosgroup.com (just the table, the light, and the tree) so that I can investigate better.

              Best regards,
              Vlado

Yes, thanks, I got the file; the problem was that the light cache samples from the bottom of the table leak onto the bottom of the plant. The way I solved it was to assign a different GI surface ID to the plant from the V-Ray Object settings dialog, and to turn off the prefiltering for the light cache (there was a small bug where prefiltering did not respect the GI surface ID, but this is fixed now).

                        Best regards,
                        Vlado

                              thanks vlado! really appreciate that.

so vlado, what's the cause for this? is it the light intensity is too strong? or the material itself? thanks again

                              best regards,
