  • Ford Mustang GT: Vray love!

I don't usually post up much work (and don't usually have much time for personal projects!) But this one is turning out nicely, so figured I'd share it

The grill mesh needs some work to hold up to the 4k render (final print size is 11x14), it also might be a bit to bright right now. The fog light housings and a few other items also need some geometry tweaking. The softbox/silk reflections on the hood need some tweaking, particularly where the dull hood reflection meets the hot softbox on the driver side.

Sized down version, and 4 crops from the original 4k render (that have gone through post). The crops might have a bit to much grain, I'm not sure how much the final render will need to look good for print, I probably have to much chroma grain, I think less chroma and a bit more luma grain would do better.

very nice. do a wider shot so we can see the rest of the beast.

and im not a big fan of photoframes. spoils the clean lines of the render.

    great job!

I might have to back off on the orange peel

Once I get this one printed, I'll be doing other angles. Spare time allowing anyway.

very little diffuse, fresnel falloff reflection (glossy at .985 I believe) and a slight bump on the clear.

There is also a 'dust' layer that adds some random dust on the paint, but it's so tiny that I don't think it's really even visible once the grain is added.

as an owner of a black car, i actually like the orange peel effect...most cars have that effect in one way or the other. if you gave us some other angles then we should see if its too much or not.

i like the renders so far.

I don't have anymore angles just yet!! This is the only angle I have set up, I'll probably have more angles later. This is the angle I'm using for the first print. Have been working late for the past few days, haven't had a chance to move on to other angles.

I'm a black car guy as well. Mine is an 06 Mustang GT, supercharged

sorry about that, I transfered my domain over to a new host, I didn't realize there might be down time. It should be back up in a day or so (I hope!)

I haven't had any time to work on it yet, so no updates. Hopefully after we finish our current job at work I'll have some free time to work on this again!

the images should be up now, my domain transfer went through. May take longer for folks in other countries, I'm not sure. Sorry about that!

yeah it will take anywhere from 1 to 3 days for the new domain info to filter throught the world.
