Overall - i think this is a GREAT image.....

The lighting from the candles looks to white and probably to much...... looks like overhead lighting.... i would add some type of flame at the top of the candles and tone down the brightness....

Also, if you have these tables set so nicely, I would think there would be some silverware and maybe a napkin too..

The building on the right looks like it needs some floor plates.... noticeable at the top left side...

    This is really nice work.

I also noticed you don't use any AA-filter.
try a soft one like Quadratic.

sorry to hijack this thread, but if you tick 'don't affect colours', doesn't it ignore the colour clamping?

          Hi.

I've had to finish another project but am now back on this one. I've done all the changes you have suggested, upping the global sampling to 3 and all the rest. Overall the image looks a lot cleaner and crisper but I m still having a major problem with all the close up models on the tables and the red chairs.

They are just standard evermotion models to save time so I know it's not the geometry because i have used them on other projects.

I finally finished this image, thanks to Valdo for fixing the black dot problems, it was because the model was too far away from the origin.

Any comments and crits would be great thanks.

The buildings maybe need a bit more contrast in them to match with the people - either that or take down their brightness a wee bit - they should be being lit by the sky so they should have their white tinted slightly blue and should be less contrasty. Nice render though!

looks really good! i like the early dusk atmosphere with the sun behind the buildings, but the rpc's look don't sit too well in the image, no pun intended...

they look like they're being lit from directly above

Pretty cool image. My only real issue is the RPCs. Beyond that, I guess some lights on the upper floors of those buildings would be nice as well.
