  • High-Rise Tower - opinions please - UPDATED

I've been working on a tower building and am trying to come up with a convincing lighting scheme. Here's what I've got so far, any tips or thoughts would be most welcome, cheers.....

I like the building. I has that Frank Gehry feel. There is a post on this site that I seen not that long ago that the artist spoke of how he created his buildings lighting in his exterior view. The post also includes a few interior shots as well (one of the images had a room with a tree in it with fall colored leaves scattered on the floor). Maybe someone knows who I'm talking about.

          yes

i love that rendering especially the night one ! i would definitley refer to that image....

i would also maybe place some maps inside orplay with the glass reflection...i think you can see to much of the interior and there is not enough insude so it feels empty.

          Nice Bldg though...

          =)

thanks, good link! Yes the building looks too empty, I think that's what wasn't sitting right with me - I'm making an update with more exterior glass reflection and will try playing with some interior maps or items to make it look less vacant. Thanks for the advice...

I've been working on this a bit more, trying to make the interior look more inhabited. Thanks for the help and C & C welcome...

Thanks! The interior is a combination of interior lighting the rooms and mapping to give it a checkerboard look. the night sky is just a few photos of night skies blended together, in fact all 3 skies are various photos blended in Pshop to get the right combinations of light quality, light direction and clouds.

The interior lighting looks awesome now. Can you elaborate on "The interior is a combination of interior lighting the rooms and mapping to give it a checkerboard look"
