  • White dot syndrome

    Hi

I need advice as to what the possible cause can be for these white dots.
All my elements with textures aside do have uw - maps
The VRay sun is turned to be invisible
    There is no HDRI

Would also appreciate advice on how to improve the image, so that it would look less computer generate and more like a photo. (I know I have to sort out the carpet)

    I am using VRay 1.5

    Thanks

    Hope it works now

i had similar problem with my image once. i think i tracked it down to be some dramatically to strong light somewhere in the scene. try checking multiplers on ur lights maybe u accidently chaged one. hope this helps.

Maybe the AA or the reflexion of your materials too.

you need more subdivs in the glossies.

            Hi

I have one sunlight for which the multiplier is set to 1

For the other (interior) lights which are all Vray lights I use the Radiant power for the multiplier setting, which is set at 60W

I had the same problem with vray sun.
The solution I found is to have invisible sun and change the specular in the material like this :

              default

              try this

I hope it will work for your pic.

Hi joetroy can you mabe be more specific as to one i should be looking at changing/setting for my AA

As for my glossiness and subdivision settings, its .95 and 12 for the wall material, 1.0 and 8 for the chrome mosaic (but the material does have a bump map) and 0.9 and 20 for the timber material.

Should I go much higher than this for the subdivisions?

just a thought. r u using light material for those square lights in ceiling? i had total mess out of my GI once, when i used light mat in scene.

i'm not sure, but i think it might be the 'clamp output' setting in the colour mapping rollout.
                    looks great!

have you some vray light in there?
if yes see if affect reflexion is checked, if yes uncheck it.

I've had this same problem in exterior scene with vray sun and glossy reflections. It is not a clamp+subpixel issue. The problem remains either way. I will try higher subdivs, but I doubt that is the problem either because the offending material has glossy subdivs at 24 and my global subdivs multiplier is at 8.

i rendered cars with up to 70 subdivs already :P

prolly tweaking the wrong end...but it did the trick :P

70!!! Oh boy i don't want to know what your rendering times was link

                              Thanks all for the advice.
I tested increasing the subdivision, not even close to 70, but the rendering time and benefit was very little.

Switching clamp and sub pixel on did solve the problem in my instance as did turning off affect reflection for the VRay lights.

Please feel free to crit the scene, I would like to achieve a better photo like image and feel that I am still lacking it by quite a bit.

                              Thanks
