  • office complex

    Hi

Here are some tests from an animation we are doing at the moment to promote a new office complex in a regeration zone on Merseyside.
We'll be doing the exterior and interior - these are the test stills from some of the runs in the interior, settings are still quite low at the moment.
The exterior images are very early tests!!
Any feedback would be most welcome
    Cheers

The interiors are stunningly good, if a bit dim. Maybe its just me with a habit of overlighting because architects always wanting "bright, cheery" spaces.

Good start on the exteriors, but the plants are very distracting because they look quite fake, with unnatural greens. Are they Evermotion? Their materials are always a bit off, I think because they don't do LWF in their setup. Sometimes its easier to redo the materials from scratch. Also, the ceiling lights you see from the outside look too strong. I recommend a box gradient to dim them as they approach the edge (assuming its a vraylight material). Or use the same ceilings from your interiors.

Really good, like the natural feel instead of the over lit quasi studio feel that we need to give most of the time.

Yes, interiors looks better than exterior shoots.
I use the same evermotions plant and trees but I would recommended you to replace (and play with it) evermotions plants and trees materials.
You can try with VRay2SidedMtl with some translucency mapping ...
              Very good start ...

                Very nice indeed!
I think you should up the sub divs of the glossy reflection for the material apllied to the edge of the wall mounted monitor (seems to have a bit to much noise right now).
That probably won't matter for an animation though.

I pretty much use the same evermotion plants all the time and don't think they look bad at all. Maybe it depends where we live. Some people are used to really flouro green colours but where i live everything has a bit more of a yellow/brown tint.

the images look great as well - i'm sure it will be a very nice animation

I must say that I am satisfied with evermotions trees/plants but some of them need to be corrected to look better IMO...

I usually use evermotion plants but I always have to tweak the materials.
                      great work.

Looking good Sad to say that my archs that i tend to work with would say 'its too dark! the whites aren't white! omg! wtf!' when in fact its a good image making a boring subject matter look good!

                            Those are good images.
For the exteriors though, I'd add some bump to your bricks, and as said before, work on the foiliage. It looks a bit fake and is too distracting.

The internals are good, and again on the externals its the plants/trees that stand out. We use the same ones in our office and they just need colour correcting, mostly the hues. The only other thing that stands out is the footpath/road material in the last one, could be due to your low test IR settings though.
