It's still there in max, just disabled as the performance impact is pretty big. Search cgtalk there is a premade custom UI that has the tabs

I dont understand the language, maybe someone could translate a few of the facts? Namely, what machine spec it was rendered on and how long it took?

You can see rendertimes bottom of 3ds max window. Mashine was Quad Core QX6700@3200 MHz, 8Gb RAM, 4хWD Raptor in RAID 0
