It is indeed very very fast, but the license system really is pants. I changed the network bridge on vista and vrayscatter no longer works! very annoyed!

Reading the Russian translations, it will also feature:
        -inter-avoidance
-unlimited render node licenses (no need to buy a node license any more)
        -free update for existing users
-price will change (go up) when it's released

I could be wrong on all counts, it's just google

Does this mean we can now transfer the license to another computer, or do we still need to buy a new complete license each time we buy a new machine ? Is it possible/allowed to use VRayScatter on a home machine now ? Some people do work overhours not in the office, you know !

No, it's impossible to use 1 licence for 2 machine.

Where can I find the link to this? I don't see anything on rendering.ru about a new version. Maybe in the russian version of the site?

It's very customer unfriendly needing to buy a new license if you buy a new machine, because of the unability to transfer the license. Even connecting the license to the VRay dongle would be a better (and simple to implement) option. You can easily transfer the license and also take it home. Paying for this implementation would be far cheaper than the cost for a new or second license !!

If you buy new machine, you can keep HDD from previous one. It is enough for licence.

Huh ? So if i buy a new maschine i am forced to keep the old HDD and invalidate support contracts with the hardware vendor ?

                      Regards,

What HDD is used to tie the license to ? If it is the boot drive does this mean the new machine needs this drive as the boot drive too ? I don't think Dell or Boxx would agree If not, can I use an external drive to tie the license too ? This would be a nice option !! And still: if HDD dies, license dies too ?

Even better, tie it to a USB stick so it's like a dongle

I have 3 questions about VrayScatter pls:

                            1) Can you use it to scatter groups of vray proxies? I need to scatter a set of objects that need to stay aligned to each other (parts of a bottle/cap/label etc.)

                            2) Do you need render nodes to use DR with VrayScatter?

                            3) When is the new version/license/pricing happening? If Scatter will do groups as I need it then I would like to buy a copy very soon to test for a job.

                            Thanks in advance,
                            b

As it is now, VrayScatter only scatters ONE proxy around within one instance of the plugin. Next to the fact that you can scatter multiple objects around, GroundWiz also has a nice feature called a variation map which enables you to define multiple colors/textures that are randomly aplied to the scattered instances. This may be of use for your bottles ! Of course I also would like to know what are the exact features for the new version of VRayScatter. Maybe an english (support) forum would make things more accessable so more users could expres their wishes and/or concerns !!

Thanks Trick - I will look into Groundwiz. In the interim though: it works with Vray proxies, and not just instances right? I tried a particle array working with instances and that was crapping my RAM out on all 3 of my machines

                                Thanks
