Rob,
It's looking great, but if you don't mind me saying, I still think that the waves are way too choppy, and i think it's down to the scale.
The water is the foreground is amazing - looks great.
However, i'd expect the waves to be visibly almost flat by the time your eye reaches the boat, and practically no height variation at all by the time your eye reaches the island (if that makes sense). So you've said there is loads of noise layered up - can you reduce the largest noise map over distance? perhaps do a distance blend in the camera z direction, leaving it as it is in the foreground, and basically flattening it over the distance it takes to reach the boat?
It's a beautiful tranquille image, but the choppy waves are making me think the weather isn't as nice as suggested! some sort of wind!
Thanks olitech. I'm still using your depth dispersion technique, it's working a treat! Although have just noticed that my dreamscape surface wasn't casting shadows (agh, that always catches me out!) so will post a better render this weekend.
I've been feverishly trying to update my portfolio over the last few months so have been keeping my head down!
Thanks I removed the dreamscape sky and put in my own one using PS. I just couldn't get that blue haze. Had to erase the water on the horizon too because that was reflecting the lighter haze. What a pain! I've got my fingers crossed for 'Vray tropical sky' in the next release
Very nice image. I still think the island is popping a bit oddly, might be too sharp, might be a bit too bright, not really sure - but overall it's great!
simmsimaging - yeah, I known what you mean. You made me think about what it could be - I think I have the answer - to get the underwater sea bed to look really bright I set the 'receive GI' to 3. The island is part of this mesh so I think that's whats giving it the nuclear sharpness/glow. I'll try another render of just the island with a 'receive GI' setting of 1 and then plop it over the top of this one in photoshop.
Ya. I only saw the original render with the choppy waves (i didn't see the updates). Reminded me of Gilligan's island...you know. As in, "the weather started getting rough...".
Sigh, nevermind. Had to have been there =P
btw, This image keeps getting better and better and better!

Ooops.. looks like I'm going to have to admit to being un-cultured... had to google 'Gilligan's island'......!
