yeah i agree the closeups look fantastic, well done.
For the other ones, I guess you can see a bit more grain in them and they dont look quite as nice to me, but still good job. All in 1 weekend? very impressive.
I'm sure with more time the grain issues etc will be easily overcome
info:
2 days work
modeling: Jacinto Monteiro and me (Nuno Castro)
lighting, rendering and post: me (Nuno Castro)
dmc+lc workflow, which never failed me, but produce somewhat longer rendertimes which had to be tight due to the deadlines resulting in more noise then desirable.
i guess i ll find time to re-render them to remove all noise.
i am humbled for your reply s!
I don t post much and have been working solo for to long and the feed back i get is from the client and my wife(thanks for putting me up!). Your feed back is like a breath of fresh air, and will drive me to work harder!
thanx, again.
Also, I'm a big fan of ir+dmc for exterior stuff, why do you use dmc+lc? is it better?
detail....
the quality is far superior imo, but comes with a price (rendertimes)
imo dmc proved to be far more predictable then irmaps. No more splotches, blinking GI, lack of detail, and long trial and error tests!
Although I do think you're being rather tough on yourselves, or maybe it's just my low standards!! I'd much rather save a few hours and go sunbathing on the beach.....
Hey Nuno, great work man!
I agree about 'noise' but in this dealine you made your best.
As Joconnel: 'The fourth render is a photo'! Like architectural magazines, very good.
I dont like so much all this 3d peoples, maybe less...?
The 'detail enhancement' option in the IR map works wonders for me. I just set the radius value to be just smaller than the smallest 'gap' in the scene, then use the medium preset. Although I don't do many animations, so it may not be an option for that. Not sure how it would behave on visumporec's wall texture either.
