        We are still playing with the final look for the poeple. They are not animated - just simple poses. If only we had the budget to do animated people!

          Maybe you could just render the people separately and them comp them in at a lower opacity, like 30%. I suppose if you wanted to do that and keep the reflections & shadows of them, you could just make them invisible to camera.

            Not bad. Some of the materials are a bit bland, image 2 & 3 specifically but im guessing thats a design spec and not by your choice.
            Im interested to see what the final ani looks like with people in. We just finished a large school animation in which we used a mix of greenscreen people and rpcs, the comped people turned out really good and were mixed in very well but some scenes had these along with static rpcs and the contrast was really off-putting.

              Unfortunatly we have been severly restricted with what we are able to produce on this animation. From a rather cinematic presentations with lots of cut camera work, we have been forced to go down the route of one continuous eyelevel camera path. What fun. People have been another battle. We wanted to go far more abstract than this originally, but apparently the end client isn't intelligent enough to be able to understand abstract (what our client has said at any rate).

                      One continuous animation path - my ultimate nightmare! I feel your pain, we once did a walkthrough of a cruise ship, ended up being an 8 minute long animation that was so soooo boring I lost the will on watching it for the 50th time in front of various people.

                      Why do clients want this kind of thing?! If you were for instance, to send a film crew to do a video promoting an already built development, they would hardly point the camera forwards and go for a walk, a really long walk. The steadicam operator would be exhausted after it all :P
