  • control reflections+shadows with vraysky

hi, i can`t manage it to control the reflections the way i want them to be when i work with vraysun/sky. i am satisfied with the reflection of the sky in the windowglass on the right side of the building, on the left side the reflections are too bright for me.
i know its physically correct and that the color and brightness of the reflected sky depend on the position of the vraysun, but changing the position of the sun is not possible as i dont`t want to have shadows on the building.
iis there a possibility to adjust vraysky to appear in refl. independend from the vraysun? (don`t want to work with hdri and refl. env. override)
also the shadows are very dark, currently i brighten them in post, can i adjust them to appear brighter with vraysun/sky?

...Why not? This would solve your problem and thats exactly what it's in vray for.

for sure, the sun is not well located...its' behind the camera then you don't get shadows to define walls and sense of depth. ....I would move it on the left.

hi, here`s the finished project. i reworked the glass in the windows in post.
@cubiclegangster: i tried it with hdri`s in refl env. override, but was never satisfied with the results. think i have to organice a bigger hdri repertory.
@flino2004: you are right, but the client didn`t want one side shaded.
@jacksc02: only one vraysun in the scene

          general c+c welcome

rendered the project with a new sun position for my personal portfolio.

Looks very nice, my only crit would be the car closest to the camera. I think it does not help the scene, attracts too much attention and you can see no one is driving... I would move it forward to only see the rear part of the car, or no car at all. Other than that, that last render looks very good, I like the colors more than the one before.
