Clearly one of you're best so far! Water and stones look fantastic. Great work! I think the composition and crop was better in your original post. And,... I must say, you really, really like that sky backdrop.

      Best regards,
      A.

Looking good! I'd say the composition is much better now that the tree has gone, in fact almost everything is better. Not convinced by the sky now though, it seem the hue doesn't match the warm light on the rest of the scene, plus the sun seems to be in the wrong position judging by the shadows.

        Best regards,

This is one really artistic image, this is how arch viz should be done.

I'm just curious, how did you create the ground material? If i were to guess, i'd say that the leaves on the asphalt were ps-ed, but i'm not 100% sure.

            Ground

Thank you guys.. it surely does mean a lot.

The ground is a material created using the gradient edge and I rendered a mask (http://www.scriptspot.com/3ds-max/rendermask) so I could paste another material over it using a multiplier layer is PS. The leaves are PS.

Not really sure what the gradient edge was used for? I was thinking about the actual texture of the ground (cover?). Some sort of leaves right? Does it have displacement?

I went to grab GradientEdge today because the one I have at the moment crashes Max quite a bit (when updating the material editor swatches) but oh no! ...it's gone commercial! Does anyone have this Gem of a plugin before the guy went nuts? My version is 1.2.2

Wow. It's up to version 3.2.2? I've been on 1.0.6 for ages now. $40usd isn't too bad of an asking price.

Oops... I am not sure were I got mine, but I didn't pay for it. I took my share down since it isn't a free app.

Just noticed that you can download another version of the plugin off the site from here; that RAR archive is about twice the size of the demo archive.

nice work, I just had one comment on how to get them to start using their images...

Obviously they have a webpage and only really like to show photo' s of finished projects so they must be at least slightly open to the concept of using technology to assist with marketing..?. Maybe they dont have to pre-sell jobs in order to commence construction and maybe there are no conceptual designs (everything is custom designed for each client?). They are surely a little scared that giving clients a 3D image prior to construction is going ot make things more difficult as well.

rather than changing their current process of working, maybe they would be more open to keeping is a marketing excercise?. Every now and then a job may fall through or due to budget cuts the job cannot be completed as originally intended so i would maybe suggest that occasionally they use these projects for marketing purposes so that the design effort does not go to waste?. You could even suggest to them that you would be able to produce images for a new product range where peoclients who have a tight budget may be happy to select a project that has already been designed. With things the way there are at the moment, everyone seems to be looking for cheaper options. So you could suggest 2 new sections on the webpage, for example: conceptual designs & budget range

Anyway i'm sure there are lots of avenues to approach this with them rather than integrating with their current methods. You probably thought of all of that anyway but thats just what i was thinking.
