Nice! The materials could use some variation though. You can try the attached script for each grouping of Proxies.Attached Files

Alternativly, you could render out at twice the size...try it with a small region first...there should be enough infomation then.
Edit: Why are you having to use an alpha anyway ? Is the sky not part of the max scene ? If not, why not just make it part of the max scene then you dont have to worry about compositing.Last edited by stevesideas; 10-02-2009, 02:42 AM.

BG problems
True, but I have found that if I use a bitmap as a background the colours seem to 'bleed' thru the geometry and influence the colurs of the image, eg there would be a faint indication of the clouds in the leaves etc as though I had overlaid a 10% layer in Photoshop? Never cured it? Any thoughts?

You could just setup a plane behind everything and apply your texture to that. I would go for a vraylight material and then, in the vray properties, turn off shadows and gi. That way the background wont affect your scene more than being just a background..
Edit: I cant imagine why your background would be bleeding through the geometry..do you have a screenshot of that ?

It's better to have environment mapped onto a dome if possible.
