    Hi

I have some questions, but all C&C are most welcome.

First things that still will receive fixing up, is the paving texture, adding curb, texture pots, detail to roof sheets, uplighters between pots.

What I would like to know is, how can I make the glass to be less reflective, I would like to see (to some degree) into the shop behind.

At present the Reflect colour for the glass is black, Fresnel is not selected and IOR is set at 1.52. The diffuse colour is 53,64,58 and the exit colour is 48, 66,44.

Then I have a plane with a photo bitmap attached to it which I would like to reflect in the glass elements, but nothing is showing at present. Might it be where the plane is place which is the problem?

Lastly in the V-Ray messages, it reports the following warning - Scene bounding box is to large, possible raycast errors - what does it mean and how do i fix it?

    Thanks

For the bounding box issue I belive this occurs when your geometry is to far removed from the scenes origin. I invite the more senior members to correct me if I'm mistaken.

Or you can have something that is very far from the scene, like an object or a face thats way off.

In general, you should move all of your geometry so it's centered around 0,0,0. CAD data tends to have some silly coordinates.

what scale is your model done in? if in mm...that will be the cause

          Thanks for the replies.

I do model in CAD, but always start with some part of the project at 0,0. I also do model in mm at scale 1:1, so maybe its just a combonation of the size of the project (the entrance is only a small part) and unit used.

Updating and importing new data during the course of the project makes moving this part to 0,0 not an option.

Any pointers as to the glass issue.

what value is your refract colour? you could try make this lighter to make the glass more transparent.

Try using the following settings for your glass.

Diffuse: Black, Reflect: 65 Grey (here black will not reflect while white will have 100% reflection-this helps in controlling reflection) Refraction: White (totally transparent) here check affect shadows & affect alpha check boxes. Bump up your reflect & refract subdivisions as required. Under options tab check on reflect on back side too.

Try relocating your reflection plane as you mentioned.

                Hi hzd_id

Why would one need to increase the sub divisions for reflect/refract if the glossiness settings have not been changed? Or are you refering to the Max depth settings?

add101 my refract colour was just of white 245,245,245.

your right here, my bad. What I ment is if you played arround with your glossiness settings you may want to bump up your sub div

                    Are you using LWF?

Before I starting using it I could NEVER get glass to look any good. When you start reading into LWF it makes sense why... anyone else had similar experiences?
