Was playing a bit with the caustics and fog a nd mesh light last night, here is my test...
i would have done higher res image but this one was already eating 7gigs of memory
))
as you can see, there is some very aparent noise in areas where for meets direct light and reflective caustics on transparent surfaces...
i would say its due to using progressive caustics mode and lower caustics subdivs (6000, the source is sun), the mesh lights do not generate caustics at all.
otherwise the setup was IRR (70,40)/BF(8,3), noise set to 0.001, Adaptive DMC 2/4
