I guess alan tichmarsh must have been a major player in the uk rail industry at one point.

'no no no, you need to replace the sleepers, wooden ones wont do at all. Every one in the country needs to be concrete from now on. And dont worry about throwing them out, i'll take care of that for you, see i'm doing you a favour'

Are they not supposed to be a bit poisonous or something? Is there some kind of bad build up from train emissions over the years?

John's right. A friend of mine ate a railway sleeper & died.

Admittedly he was hit by a train.

          But they're still dangerous.

          Good work Cube!

            Really? damn

I was considering starting a novelty restaurant where the tables are made of sleepers and the food is brought on plates attached to train tracks winding through the room.

edit: also the plates are wheels from old trains, and everything is cooked in a coal fire.

This explains one or two things about Alan Tit-marsh

Probably not worth anyone commenting on this, i'm only throwing it up because it's another days work.

                Things to change:
The buildings (layout, size & look)
                camera angle (lower)
Platform (widen, change material, remove fence, add detail, lower tracks some more)
                The cables (make 'not shit')
The supports - new material, little more detail.
Probably some others too, spent most of lasts nights work deciding I wasnt happy with where it was going and planning stuff. Going to make it less about everything and more about the platform, with the buildings in the background. trying to keep the focus on both sides will probably make it a bit of a mess to balance (and look at)

Nice, I like this a lot, the bottom area is looking very realistic.

What are you using as reference for all your bits and bobs? Is this going to be a still or will you stick a train or something in there?

Just a still, if there is a train it'll be lights in the tunnel kind of thing - I seriously cannot be bothered to model one along with the rest of this. haha.

It's a combination of memory and google image search. Most details dont just use one reference, i've mixed and matched parts of some to fit my ideal look.

Wow, really nice attention to detail. I like this. You'll have a great scene for night renders also. You could try night and foggy with new vrayenvironmentfog!

Pskdude - it's disapointingly basic, IRmap, brute force, vray sun/sky with the values seperated and balanced.
I dont see lighting as being that important - so long as it's not completley broken, it's all in the materials and getting those balanced.

Crayox - we're not on the new vray yet, but we should be by the time this is done. Fog will most certanly be getting used
A night scene would be nice, but i'm not going to think about it till this is done.

I've changed the layout and look of this a fair bit, tightened it up and it's looking a lot better. No updates till after the weekend though, i'm away till monday now.
